We've all heard the stories about the Bermuda Triangle. Ships disappear with out explanation. Planes crash never to be seen again. Some suggest it is due to paranormal activity, others believe the laws of physics do not apply in the area, and yes, some think it's aliens.
It has been found that many of the mysterious cases were misreported, or embellished. Research done shows that the number of missing ships/planes were not greater than elsewhere in the oceans. Reports of unexplained disappearances are usually fabricated. The ships usually are found later, were not in the area to begin with, or have reason for the disappearance (usually a storm). Theoretically, navigation in the area could also contribute to the reported disorientation of sailors, and pilots. Magnetic north (normally used) is thought to switch to true north, possibly throwing off navigation by 20 degrees.
All in all, not such a terrible place.
